this is all very close but I decided against E10 (A)KEE because I really didn't like the leave. this also set up the sneaky I7 E(V)E with another E draw, which bails me out on a lot of racks. Nevertheless this is probably #tacticssad
I thought maybe this has some merit to help control the northwest after bingoes to WHELP, but this was totally ridiculous and I should just play BARF. #tacticssadder
F8 VAU man the U really sucks huh #tacticssadder ##equity
Specifying an S on his rack makes this play a lot better, but not better enough to justify the sac'ed equity
I should probably just play C7 LIEU but I'm not sure what INE gets me when the board is this closed. I'm pretty happy with my decision honestly. #tacticssad i guess.
I should just play D8 EMOTED here -- it's equity and the board is already plenty open. DEEM does double the A-hook potential but without holding an A that's not too great. #tacticssad
So I should pull the trigger on 11E D(A)IRYING here. We had a real BUSHVELD moment with this word though -- Eric played it to open his round 17 game (and drew a challenge) and his son Noah played it in round 26 or something, also drawing a challenge. #knowledgesaddest
11H TALONEd missed mate in one #findingsaddest. I thought I had to not empty because of how strong the bag was and definitely not open the triple so I passed up the weaker bings.
J8 FI(XI)NG #visionsad. I liked FLIER because it effectively shuts down the left half of the board for good, and that's why I decided against FLINGE(R). But this scores too much and doesn't open more.
EB: 2B BI(L)BY or L11 ABBEY instead -- I figured that the board was dead enough that I shouldn't give him the only spot to score. Sim thinks I'm on the right track but the point diff is just too much. #knowledgesad
And yet, the nagging voice in my head telling me FUDS is no good (mixing it up with WUDS*, of course) tells me to throw it right back. I was 95% sure FUDS was bad but OF COURSE I should still try it instead of accepting a loss. A 5% chance at a win is worth a lot more than 25 spread. Idiotic and missed mate in one (4th of the tourney?) #knowledgesaddest
Thought hard about whether to play 5M DAB setting up KABO(B) which is kind of never blocked ever but I chickened out of it. I think I need to be a little more free with my setups sometimes but I'm glad I spotted this idea (and it does sim best.) #strategysad
missed mate in one. somehow I got so bogged down in being able to play 14B GLAZE with an A draw that I missed GLOZE until the second I hit the clock. Absolute game-losing mistake. this was ridiculous #findingsaddest
I probably need to play more than 2 tiles here with OO unseen. ILK is pretty good, but gets edged out by 14G JINK(S) and crushed by F2 KNIT. #tacticssadder
Exch. CDFGL is better. I held the F because of the F10 F spot if I hit an E, and also the D9 spot -- those aren't good enough, unfortunately. #strategysad
Most interesting position of the game is here. I spent a while considering the merits of E4 GLAD and E4 GLADE -- the X setup is beautiful and massive, and hitting an A or O with 4/5 draws seems pretty likely. It is probably pretty important for me to hold the E and only play E4 GLAD on the offchance that I miss every vowel draw. Ultimately, I chickened out and decided to take the guaranteed points. But it seems like blocking lanes to the E + scoring + setting up a SECOND X bomb outweigh the security of crushing the spot now. After the game, I pointed out the potential setup to Josh, and he said something like "that would've made the game interesting. " So there's that. #strategysad I guess.
8D KORAI edges this out, but I liked this because it gives back hard floaters. In retrospect, the score difference of KORAI is too important, and OK's back hooks are debilitating. #tacticssad
Already fucking up. 8D WIVER is just too many points to pass up. Intuitively it feels like I should be able to justify exchanging here, but the sim says its an 8 point mistake. #tacticssadder
Sim likes 5E ZA better than K3 LAZ(Y) by about 3 points. More defensive and better leave apparently is enough to overcome the 5 point difference. #tacticssad
Doubted myself on AVERTERS and didn't spot the STARVER spot. This is the best non-bingo play but it still sucks majorly. 9G STARVER #visionsaddest #knowledgesaddest

Saw ClAQUER for 125 hooking CANON before he played. Tilted after, and missed the A4 QUARE for 87 leaving C? and the clearly best A2 ACQUiRE for 146. #findingsaddest
